Welcome to the Kenilworth Chess Club website. In non-pandemic times we meet almost every Thursday in the upstairs room of The Ale Rooms, Kenilworth at 19:30, and are always happy to welcome new members along at these evenings.

We field four teams in the Leamington and District Chess League, and one in the Coventry and District Chess League, with our home matches played at the Kenilworth Abbey Club. See the Fixtures tab for a list of all this season's matches. Home games are played on Mondays at 19:30 in the Leamington League, and Tuesdays at 19:30 in the Coventry League.

The club was formed in 1975 and has won the Leamington League title on thirteen occasions - most recently in 2014, 2020, 2022 and 2023. We have also won the knockout cup competition on nine occasions, most recently in 2023, and, in 2003, the club was awarded the title of Club of the Year by the British Chess Federation. Entering the Coventry League in 2015, the club gained it's first trophies in 2018 when winning both the Knock Out and Divisional Cups. In 2023 the Club won the Division 1 title for the first time.
